Our goal is to have a little place for families to come that will enhance and strengthen their lives together. We promise to do our best to only offer Family Friendly material and sites for you to explore.

We wanted a place that was family safe, but more than that. In building this site, we are trying to keep in mind the web pages we have been to that helped our family in one way or another. I suppose you could say that we are building this for us as much as others. We envision, someday, of having a one-stop place for families to come for the help and growth they need.

We hope that you will be able to find something here to help you in your walk through this life together.

I hear so many people say that they are afraid of the internet for one reason or another. That should never be. Yes, there is alot of "bad guys" out there, but isn't that true anywhere. For example, if we need a new roof, do we do without because we know there are crooked contractors out there. Of course not. We do our due diligence to find a reputable contractor. Same with the internet.

To save you some time and help introduce this new way of shopping and hunting for information, we are trying to find the reputable companies for you. There is so much great information and some really fantastic people on the net that it would be a shame if you shyed away from it because of a few bad apples.

Pitman Family Services will always be popup free. If you get pop-ups when you come to our site, they are not from us. Chances are that you have adware or spyware on your computer. You might want to think of getting some kind of adware protection. I know we can get pop-up blockers, but did you know that doesn't stop the adware companies from using data-mining or parasites, or even scumware and trojans. We use Lavasoft Ad-Aware to take care of our problems like that.

Our website is a work in progress, just like our daily lives. We will be adding and changing things daily, so check back often. We will do our best to only have here; places to go that are honest and have integrity. Your suggestions will not only be appreciated, but welcomed. Please let us know if there are any broken links or anything you have found that might help out our other visitors!

Our Story...

I have been a stay at home mom most of my life. I did have a couple of jobs over the years, but it seemed they cost me more than I was making.

Charlie was employed with General Motors for 33 years before he retired in May 2001. I must say that even though the ups and downs with GM; through layoffs, strikes, plant closings, and such; it still afforded us a degree of security and allowed me to stay home most of the time. Sorry to say, that type of job security for families today is gone.

I was born and spent most of my life in Hamilton and Fairfield, Ohio just north of Cincinnati. Charlie was born in Lee County, Kentucky and had just moved to Hamilton when we got married in 1968. He had just hired in at GM in Norwood. Chances are,if you are driving a Camaro or Firebird, he could have helped to assemble it.

A year later we had our son, Chuck. The most precious thing in our life is our children. It has been amazing raising them. Unfortunately for the next twenty years, I was barren except for 3 miscarriages. Praise God, in his mercy, in 1989 He blessed us with our daughter, Candra.

Charlie's plant was one of the first to close when GM started migrating their plants out of the country. He was eventually sent to the plant in Dayton, but then transferred to Indianapolis. By this time Chuck had married Randi, who is more of a daughter to us than a daughter-in-law. Not long after Charlie, Candra, and I moved to Indianapolis, Chuck and Randi moved to Northern Indiana where Randi's dad lived. In 1996 Randi's mom had moved to Florida, and Chuck and her soon followed. Naturally, when Charlie retired, we moved down to be close to them and be a united family again.

We have not always made the best decisions about our finances over the years. When Charlie retired, we still owed for our home. Things were getting really tight on a pension. Then Charlie had a stroke in Febuary of 2002 and had no chance of making any extra money.

I was homeschooling our daughter, and now Charlie needed 24 hour care. My only option seemed to find a job on the internet. Since you are here, I am sure that you can understand the problems with that. So many scams. Yes, I did get hooked into one of them once. I kept looking for a legitimate job, but even the ones that checked out didn't stay around long. I soon learned that getting in on the ground floor would be a big mistake since most of the businesses on the internet would fold within three to five years.

That is when I took some internet courses and ended up here with my own website. There isn't alot of money, but I feel that it has turned into quite a mission. I hope you agree.

I have found so many great people and websites during my learning process. I hope that by introducing your family to some of these websites, I can in some way be a help to your family.

Thanks for visiting!
